Practice Model

Bethany Womens Healthcare is a model of collaborative practice where patients benefit from the medical expertise of physicians and the holistic healthcare focus of certified nurse midwives. We are also privileged to have a women’s healthcare practitioner on staff. Our dedicated providers have long been committed to providing universal access to affordable, cost efficient and high quality care in an environment where women are recognized as important contributors to their own healthcare decision-making.

This model of care allows us to deliver individualized attention to women and is proven to be an effective utilization of healthcare resources. Not only are we committed to providing care for a wide range of physical needs, but we also appreciate the importance of caring for the total individual woman—including emotional, social, and spiritual areas—throughout her lifetime.

Our practice philosophy recognizes pregnancy and birth as healthy experiences for the overwhelming majority of families. Most women are able to successfully labor and deliver without medical intervention or interference.

Patients and their families have the right to women’s healthcare services that are not only medically safe, but also recognize and respect their unique social needs, spiritual beliefs, and ability to make appropriate decisions about their own care. This treatment should be holistic in nature, preventive in focus, and provide an opportunity for families to become active participants.

While the primary supportive hospital for our practice is Phoenix Baptist Hospital and Medical Center, John C. Lincoln Hospital-North Mountain and St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center are also hospitals that provide an environment for birth where our physicians maintain privileges.
